Camden County’s Selfless Star 2020 DB Micheal Holmes

Micheal Holmes is a 6’1, 185lb DB out of the Georgia powerhouse Camden County. If you could describe Holmes’ game in one word it would be: Physical. He is as physical as they come when it comes to playing Safety. He consistently shows he can line up anywhere on the defense. The star defensive back’s game is very reminiscent of former FSU star and current San Diego Charger Safety Derwin James. The 2020 prospect was used everywhere last season from patrolling the defensive backfield, playing in the box for run support, all the to rushing the passer where he really stands out at.

I’ve had the opportunity to briefly talk to the safety about his recruitment:

How’s everything going with your recruitment so far?

“It’s going okay right now. It’s tough to narrow everything down. It seems like I’m getting a new offer every week. With NIU offering that made twenty offers. I think my future will be bright at NIU.”

Make that 21 as Arkansas offered the talented DB briefly after we spoke.

What role are the Huskies selling you on for their defense?

“They are allowing me to play Rover which is like a nickel/OLB in their defense. All their coaches are excited about me and they produce players at the next level.”

What is something you would like people to know about you?

“Many people think that I’m all about myself, when it’s 200% the other way around. You can ask my teammates and my coaches I could care less about the accolades because if I’m the best teammate I can be for my teammates and the best player I can be for my coaches everything will fall into place. Right now, I’m focused on winning the state championship and making A/B honor roll.”

Holmes also says Northern Illinois, Middle Tennessee, UAB, Mercer, and Texas A&M are among the schools recruiting him the hardest.

He is one of the most physical DB’s of the 2020 class. You can watch Micheal Holmes’ highlights here. Holmes is a prospect that you can see making an impact in many different ways on Saturdays. We will continue to follow his recruitment and senior season. We’re excited to see what’s next for this talented DB!
