SwampSquadXX: Early Predictions for Current Targets

The 2019 class has come to an end but there’s still plenty of football recruiting to discuss. Mullen and the staff have got off to a great start for the 2020 class, let’s take a look at some of the teams current targets.

Carson Beck: 4 Star QB, 6’4 226 pounds, Mandarin High School

The 2020 class is filled with talented quarterbacks and Carson Beck is definitely one of them. The talented Jacksonville native had a phenomenal junior season capped off with a Class A8 state championship, and was awarded Mr. Football in the state of Florida. With the recent de-commitment of QB Anthony Richardson all signs point to Beck being the next signal caller to commit for the Gators.

Early Prediction: Florida

Demarkcus Bowman: 5 Star RB, 5’11 195 pounds, Lakeland High School

The talented Dreadnaught star is arguably one of the best running backs in the country. Bowman currently has over 3000 career rushing yards, to go along with 40 plus career rushing touchdowns. The staff has keyed on Bowman being the bell cow for this years class, however Clemson is steadily in the picture. Nevertheless, the pipeline to Lakeland is ridiculous, the staff had the luxury of landing three of his former teammates last class.

Early Prediction: Florida

Xzavier Henderson: 3 Star WR, 6’4 180 pounds, Columbus High School

Henderson is a prospect who has the chance to shoot up this year in the rankings. The Miami native had a productive junior season finishing off with a game high three touchdowns. With his older brother Cj Henderson possibly declaring for the draft next season, Xzavier has already mentioned his brother being a Gator doesn’t determine his decision. Florida, Miami, and Clemson seemed to be all in for Xzavier, however Clemson seems to be a favorable landing spot. Clemson has the track record of being “WRU” and the production shows.

Early Prediction: Clemson

Fred Davis II: 5 Star DB, 6’2 177 pounds, Trinity Christian Academy

Davis is another talented prospect out of the “904” area, he’s also viewed as one of the best in the country. Davis recruitment seems to be unclear as of right now, no team seems to be a heavy favorite. Ohio St could be a potential landing spot due to the program having a duval pipeline but Urban Meyer gave up the reigns to Ryan Davis. Torrian Gray has returned to the Gators staff and will be Davis’s primary recruiter, if Gray can build a solid relationship Florida could have a definite shot.

Early Prediction: Slight lean to Florida
