FSU Currently has the ranked #9 class of 2019 according to 247sports and 8th according to Rivals. Coach Willie Taggart is looking to build an elite class with top talent still left on the board.
With all the talent left on the ‘Noles board here’s where I think we stand with some of the best in the country. ( I am not an insider, this is just my thoughts on these prospects.)
Kayvon Thibodeaux: I Believe Florida State has a legit chance to haul the #1 player in the nation in Kayvon Thibodeaux. The staff is doing a great job recruiting Kayvon as a person, over just as a football player. They’re building a strong relationship with the California native and it will only continue to grow. He has scheduled an official on Labor Day weekend, a great chance to show him that atmosphere at Doak and maybe push for a commitment.
Nakobe Dean: Five star Nakobe Dean has been trending to SEC schools since his recruitment took off, But that all can change after his most recent visit to FSU. Dean had scheduled a few visits that had to be cancelled due to him being ill, but finally made it during SNL. It’s no secret that FSU’s linebacker unit is shallow and unproven, Dean can be a day one starter if he were to chose the Seminoles. I think FSU has put themselves on a short list of schools that has Dean’s attention and it will be a battle until the end with; FSU, Alabama, and Georgia.
Nick Cross: Four star safety, Nick Cross was expected to commit sometime in July but that decision has been delayed. FSU still seem to be the favorites for the talented safety out of Maryland. Cross stated he’s gonna commit before the beginning of his senior season starts August 25th. In my opinion, Seminole fans shouldn’t worry about this one too much. It’s not a matter of if but when with Cross.
George Pickens: Florida State has a lot of work to do. The Alabama native and Auburn commit has an excellent relationship with fellow Tigers QB commit Bo Nix. He and FSU commit Sam Howell bonded some at SNL and need to keep the relationship growing to shake things in his recruitment. Not an impossible flip but I think it’s unlikely.
Kardell Thomas: 5 star guard and Louisiana native Kardell Thomas has been committed to LSU for two years. I don’t expect anything to change in his recruitment, I just believe he enjoys the ride. I believe he really enjoyed his visit in Tallahassee but his heart is at LSU.
Khris Bogle: Bogle is a kid who flirts with a lot of schools and it’s tough to get a read on him. He really enjoys the recruiting process but ultimately, I think he ends up at Miami. After reading multiple interviews of his recruitment that is one place that is always on the top of his list, no matter how many other schools change the Hurricanes always are consistent.
Llyod Summerall: Summerall was once looked at as a Florida State lock but now it seems he isn’t as high on the Seminoles as he once was. He didn’t show up to SNL and that should tell fans all they need to know. I think Florida is really selling him on the 3-4 outside linebacker role and really making it hard for any other team to lure him away.
